Death and hell
Written by Robert Davis
(I Stand By The Word)
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
?How can hell be thrown into hell
If the lake of fire is hell how can hell be thrown into hell?

lets examine this verse!
Here is that verse with Strong's

From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, "Hades" or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell.
Let's substitute the underline meanings in the spot were hell is and see what we get.
And death and unseen were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
What do you think?
And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
hmmm I don't know but what does hades mean?
9 'abedah ab-ay-daw' from concrete, something lost; abstract, destruction, i.e. Hades:--lost. Compare
11 'abaddown ab-ad-done' intensive from abstract, a perishing; concrete, Hades:--destruction.
4194 maveth maw'-veth from death (natural or violent); concretely, the dead, their place or state (hades); figuratively, pestilence, ruin:--(be) dead((-ly)), death, die(-d).
7585 sh'owl sheh-ole' or shol {sheh-ole'}; from Hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), including its accessories and inmates:--grave, hell, pit.
It just points more to be a grave!
And death and place were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Now that don't make scence either.
And death and departed souls were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Yes this could be it but there are a couple of problems with this.
Most Christians believe at death the soul departs and goes on to either hell or heaven?
let's read the entire passage

Revelation 20:13-15 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
This happens at Judgement.
If the soul departs before that and it says right here And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them
Now does it makes scence to go to hell then be Judged then go back to hell?
Now back to the subject
And death and grave were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Hmm this sounds like it fits.
Death is a result of sin check it here.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Grave is were people go when they die (sleep).
When Adam and Eve commited sin this coused us to lose our eternal life.

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die
Eternal life lost!
Now lets read the entire passage with grave in its place.

Revelation 20:13-15 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and grave delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and grave were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Now notice second death
If hell is a place and hell delivered up what was in them and went back to hell, then it would be a third death would it not?Do you get what the Bible is saying.
Hell is the grave
Ok if hell is the Grave then what is the lake of fire?
The Bible always explains itself.
Check it out!
Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Ok lets put it together
If the wicked encamped around the city then fire came and devoured them,Then how could they be in what people call hell a place of torment if they were devoured?
Sin has to be no more the fire comes down from heaven and cleans the Earth of sin so if the whole earth is on fire with molten lava it can appear to be a lake of fire!
Remember
Truth and Logic goes together.

God bless
